Bed Bug ClimbUp Interceptors passive traps for bed legs…..

  • Goes underneath the feet of furniture. Good tool to trap bed bugs and makes sure they can’t get up to your bed.
  • Two layers of walls so you can identify if the bugs were trying to climb up the bed or if they climbed down.
  • The design also means that it is also a test to check if your bed or particular furniture is currently affected.
  • The circle of the inside layer is quite big and it will fit some really wide furniture legs and beams. Almost 4 inches in diameter is going to fit most things.
  • Prevention is better than cure and this is the perfect prevention measure for your bed.

5 of 5 Stars

The interceptor is also made of a very sturdy material and is quite thick to improve the durability of the product. It’d be little use being as wide as it is if it cracked under a decent load, wouldn’t it?!

-Faq-

Should the outer trap be removed?

No, that trap is there to let the bugs crawl onto the object. Without it, they won’t be caught.

Does the trap area contain adhesive?

It has a coating of powder to make it impossible for insects and bed bugs to climb up again. Definitely not sticky though!

What we liked

  • Strong and sturdy and big enough to support your big furniture legs and similar objects.
  • You can see where the pests are gathering in the cups to determine whether there is anything in your bed. Easy detection for the win!

What we didn’t like

  • Only good for beneath legs and such. A bit like shoes really. Bed bugs can still crawl on all this space and spread so you’re not completely safe.
  • You still have to do away with the bed bugs yourself. Letting them sit there for months at a time isn’t exactly a good choice.

Bug Snarer Bed Bug Trap Reviews

#2Bug Snarer Bed Bug TrapBug Snarer Bed Bug TrapBug Snarer Bed Bug TrapBug Snarer Bed Bug TrapBug Snarer Bed Bug Trap

Bug Snarer Bed Bug Trap | Bed Leg Protection and Bedbug Prevention…..

  • Fits cozily into the legs of your bed and furniture to keep those pests at bay.
  • Super durable build quality and is rated to withstand weights up to 800 pounds. That’s a ton of weight figuratively!
  • Free of chemicals, so is safe for your household and environment as a whole.
  • Even the sides are quite well polished, so they’re not going to provide the same friction to bed bugs as others.
  • Rectangular framing lets it support bigger beams and legs than rounded ones. As long as it can support the weight, no one’s complaining!

5 of 5 Stars

Given how hard it is to get into the thing to begin with, it’s going to be near impossible for those bed bugs to get out again. More or less guaranteed to find a few inside if there is an infestation.

-Faq-

Will beg legs that are 4-inch squares fit?

Probably not. The inner bit of the trap isn’t 4 inches across. Opt for something bigger in this case.

What is this product made of?

For durability, the product is made of hard plastic. Must be pretty hard to withstand 800 pounds!

What we liked

  • Big, strong and durable to support bigger furniture and heavier beds.
  • Easy to use and setup. Also, you don’t have to do anything afterward. What more could you want?

What we didn’t like

  • The lack of a surface on the outside with friction means that a lot of bugs won’t be getting caught. It’s great as long as you’re safe and all but you’ll want to catch em all in due time I think!
  • Should come with lot’s of instructions. Adding tape to the sides helps but you wouldn’t know about it!

Climbup Insect Interceptor XL Bed Bug Trap…..

  • Very big surface, supports rectangular beams up to 6.5 inches in length and 4.25 in width. Pretty big surface area, that.
  • Free of harmful materials and chemical, keeping the environment in and around your home safe.
  • Easy to set up; just set up the interceptor underneath the legs and you’re done!
  • The double well system is present here too, so you can tell if you have an infestation problem in your bed already.
  • The size should also let you accumulate a whole bunch of them together and even when the slippery walls start to become sticky, it’ll be a decent climb back up. They’ll be there for a while I imagine!

5 of 5 Stars

The versatility of the product lets you mount a wide variety of objects and their legs. Users with very big legs or some strangely shaped legs, such as L shaped ones, which are rare but exist, are going to fit into this product well enough. Big surface areas matter people!

-Faq-

How big is the square on the inside?

It is a rectangle 5 inches by 7 inches.

Do you need to remove the tape on the outer layer before you use it?

No, that is the thing that provides the friction to let all the bugs climb to begin with!

What we liked

  • Will fit much bigger legs than a lot of others. Throw your biggest one at this!
  • Good build quality. You won’t be cracking these with the bigger legs and beams because of the good quality build.

What we didn’t like

  • The size means that they are not very discreet. They look quite ugly and stick out from beds and furniture quite a bit.
  • They are less resistive on carpets. What is it with these things being poor on carpets?!

Trapbedbugs XL Bed Bug Trap

#4Trapbedbugs XL Bed Bug InterceptorsTrapbedbugs XL Bed Bug InterceptorsTrapbedbugs XL Bed Bug InterceptorsTrapbedbugs XL Bed Bug InterceptorsTrapbedbugs XL Bed Bug Interceptors

Trapbedbugs XL Bed Bug Trap 4 Pack White…..

  • Another really big-sized interceptor. 7 inches in length is almost half a feet!
  • Very environmentally friendly. Doesn’t even have powder on the walls like a lot of these traps.
  • Dual well design so again, you can tell if there is anything coming down from your furniture. Free detection is always welcome I hope!
  • The outer surface is textured and itself is enough to get bugs to climb up and into the interceptor.
  • Easy set up; putting it below the legs of the furniture and have a sound sleep.

5 of 5 Stars

Includes thorough instructions regarding how to use it on different surfaces. Carpet users will be happy to know that there are directions to using this product over carpets. Even for simple devices, instructions can truly be invaluable. For people who need more than a bed bug trap review, instructions will be vital to making the purchase decision.

-Faq-

Will this be okay if I put on a bed with wheels?

It all depends on the weight really! As long as it isn’t too heavy, it should be fine.

How many come included in the package?

They come in 4 pieces of XL size per package.

What we liked

  • Big size so bigger legs, bigger beams and more shapes will fit into it. Bigger means more function in this instance!
  • Instructions let you use it over a bunch of different scenarios knowing how to use it. No more cracking over carpets!

What we didn’t like

  • Only suitable for the bottom of legs. As in with most interceptors, they won’t keep you safe everywhere; only your beds!
  • You still have to do away with the bugs after they are caught. Will take some more time and effort to kill off the bugs after collection.

  • Safe way of keeping pests out. No chemicals is always a plus for me!
  • Uses light and heat from light bulbs to lure bulbs and fleas and into a trap.
  • Comes with 2 sticky pads where bugs and insects that are drawn towards the warmth and light get stuck to.
  • It is odorless, so you don’t have to worry about your home smelling off!
  • You can get refills for the bulb and pads, so it’ll go for a long time with replacements.

5 of 5 Stars

Great way to oversee a general control over the bed bugs. They’ll be swarming in from all areas in the near vicinity and helps to eliminate them throughout the house, as opposed to certain furniture. Forget the bed; make all of your furniture safe this way!

-Faq-

Can someone tell me the size of the bulbs?

The bulbs are c7 size and support bulbs with both 4 and 7-watt power ratings.

How often does the sticky part need replacing?

There is no solid rule but if you think it’s full enough, give it a cleaning I guess. You don’t have to be exact or anything here!

What we liked

  • Coverage in all sorts of furniture at once instead of just one or a few at a time.
  • Does not use chemicals and is generally safe for the environment and children and pets.

What we didn’t like

  • No way to detect if there is an infestation on a particular object. It’ll just kill whatever comes its way. I hope all of them decide to take a trip to the device.
  • Will need to spend more money to keep using the device as bulbs eventually give way. Sure, it’s not the worst thing ever but it’s annoying!

Trapper Insect Trap (Great for Bed Bugs, Spiders, Cockroaches)

#6Trapper Insect TrapTrapper Insect TrapTrapper Insect TrapTrapper Insect TrapTrapper Insect Trap

Trapper Insect Trap (Great for Bed Bugs, Spiders, Cockroaches) – Includes 90 Traps…..

  • Basically, glue on a cardboard. Simplest design yet. Not poisonous though.
  • Minimal size and design makes it easy to carry around. Travel with it if you’re going into some insect-filled place.
  • It can even work on cockroaches, forget bed bugs! They do much less damage but they’re also incredibly annoying.
  • Comes with a very large pack of 90 different packs. It’ll last you quite a while and it’s something you can travel with for a long time.
  • Self-baiting in a sense. Insects get stuck, draw in more. Rinse and repeat. Pretty neat, right?

5 of 5 Stars

In a sense, the self-baiting feature means that any bed bug that gets stuck here will, in turn, become bait for bigger insects and creatures like spiders. Isn’t that just amazing? A spider coming along to clean up the mess is perfect!

-Faq-

Does it need bait?

It doesn’t; insects pass by and as soon as they stick a limb in, they’re stuck in a limbo then and there!

Is there any insecticide on it?

No, it is chemical free and is meant to not do damage to the external environment, as is the case with traps.

What we liked

  • They don’t need cleaning. Spiders will do it for you! Just replace it with a new one every now and then.
  • A very big pack of 90 means that you won’t be running out of them anytime soon.
  • Can buy tablets for this for luring purposes. Optional if you want to increase trap rate.

What we didn’t like

  • Lack of a proper lure in the initial product can be a problem.
  • It’s a general solution but not something that is wholesome. It alone won’t do away with all the bugs at home.

Types Bed Bug Traps

Getting right into the good stuff, first, you need to know that there are two types of bug traps; active traps and passive traps.

Active traps

Active traps are bed traps that have a lure, causing unsuspecting bugs to be attracted to the trap. Many types of lures are used, including heat, carbon dioxide emissions and pheromones to fool the bugs into the area of the trap. This keeps bugs in the vicinity away from you and flowing towards the trap instead, where there is a system to get the insects stuck and eventually die, such as an adhesive or an incline.

Passive traps

Passive traps on the other hand work similarly in the trapping department but don’t have a lure system, so you have to place it close to you. The way it works is, bugs are attracted to the body heat and carbon dioxide that the human body emits.

On the way towards you, the trap will be placed and when any bug enters the area of the bed bug trap, it is going to get stuck in it, keeping it safely away from you. However, in this method, there is a chance that the trap is missed by the bug and you’re in for a messy night!

The Effectiveness of Bed Bug Traps

So now that you are more familiar with this, how effective are these strange traps? What if even the best bed bug killer actually isn’t that good at killing these pests?

Normally, they’ll both do alright. Most bed bugs come to your bed from the floor and having passive traps even, should be enough to catch several. However, in many infestations, they may also be hidden away in the many nooks and crannies of your room and even underneath your bed. Therefore, you’re more likely to be alright if the infestation is only mild at best.

Active traps will logically, offer more protection and catch more bed bugs from many other corners of your room because they’ll be drawing bugs towards them. However, you should know that infestations that are quite serious are not going to be thwarted by a simple bed bug trap. Yes, surprisingly, some of these bugs are going to prefer your body heat over some artificial one!

Therefore, if the infestation is too serious, just call the exterminators already! You don’t have to put yourself through all this because bug traps aren’t going to be enough. Get that wallet out and save yourself the trouble buddy!

How to Use Bed Bug Trap & Where to Place Them For Better Result

What’s the best way to use them, you ask? Well, I guess even if they’re not going to be full-proof, might as well use them as efficiently as possible. To be as efficient as possible with bed bug traps, you need to have an idea of where these little buggers are in the first place or some idea of their vicinity.

Usually, they’ll infect furniture and some other household objects and if you are vigilant, you may be able to find out where. If you are successful in doing so, the best thing to do would be to place the traps underneath said objects.

For example, you should put them under the foot of your affected stools and tables. Bed bugs don’t fly and while it moves to and away from one object to another, it will inevitably have to come back down to the floor.

Therefore, keeping it in such as place is going to intercept every bed bug that has affected that particular furniture. If it’s only one object that has been affected, you’re in some serious luck my friend!

However, that is really unlikely! More often than not, they’ll be in several other areas too. It’s usually quite difficult to track down all their locations. So as a general rule, keeping them close to your bed. Particularly the access points of your bed, is going to be necessary to prevent them from gaining access to your beloved resting place.

So what if your whole bed is in contact with the floor? Well, you’re in trouble then! Even the best bed bug killer isn’t a surefire way to keep you safe in this case. You can try using multiple traps around your bed and active traps are likely to catch a fair share of these bugs but you’ll still get bitten a fair bit I imagine.

Alternatives Way to Killing Bed Bug

So say bed bug traps aren’t really growing on you and you’re probably still getting bit now and then. You should most certainly look at alternatives. And to save you the trouble of doing all this, I am going to be giving it to you, all on a plate!

First of all, consider getting some pesticide from the nearest hardware store. They’ll be quick treatment for those bed bugs and you can apply them on objects such as mattresses and bed covers to do away with them. Do take care to get ones that are rated safe for use with household items as you’ll want to use them later.

Fog-based insecticides are also a good option in this regard, seeing as these pests are primarily inhabitants of indoor areas. Preferably get some strong ones as those, despite being more poisonous to your surroundings, will do a lot more damage to these little critters. Fog based products and aerosols are also very versatile and you can pretty much spray them anywhere you suspect them to be. Even the ones hiding in nooks and crannies of your house won’t be safe if you spray everywhere!

A surprising tool that may come in handy in this regard is vacuum cleaners! Yeah, I had the same look when I figured out too! You won’t always catch them out in the open but if they’re hiding in crevasses in and around your home that can be accessed with a vacuum, feel free to let it rip and suck in all those little monsters! Afterward, just burn the bag or something. Anything to get rid of them for good really! Similar instruments to the vacuum such as the steam cleaning machine might also do the job. The bugs usually can’t survive the heat and they’ll be toast in no time!

If you need even more help, then here you go; I’ll do a bed bug traps review to make the decision process easier for you.

Our Last Opinion

Now you should have everything you need in order to tackle bed bugs. There are a lot of different products that do a lot of different things and assessing your situation properly will help you decide the kind of product that you need to solve your infestation.

And if all else fails, just call the exterminators already! There aren’t any points for living with bed bugs and even the best bed bug killer may not always work but you should get rid of them ASAP and you and your family can live happily ever after.
